Sports Specialism

Westcroft has maintained the ethos of the sports specialism that it gained in 2000 and continues to use PE, Sport and Physical Activity as a vehicle for school improvement.

The unique value of PE, Sport and Physical Activity is used to benefit all children within the school, giving them access to a wide range of sporting and curriculum opportunities both in and outside of school hours.

Targeted groups such as Healthy 15 and Sky Living for Sport Boxing Project are used to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and impact upon wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, concentration and effort

As a Lead Inclusion School with the Youth Sport Trust our main focus is to provide professional development around inclusion. This includes working with schools, staff and coaches across the Black Country providing bespoke support as well as delivering Sportsability and Sainsburys Inclusive PE courses.

As a and a Leadership, Coaching and Volunteering hub with the Youth Sport Trust we aim to develop inclusive leaders and young coaches across the Black Country and use them to organise, develop and support events for children with SEND.

Working in partnership with Wolverhampton PASS (Partnerships and School Sport) we aim to provide more opportunities for young SEND people by creating a range of School Games competitions in a range of sports as well as developing new versions of sports which allow more students and children with SEND to take part. These include Unified Football and Cricket.
